Central transition operator for half-integer spins expressed in the Pauli basis.

Syntax

    A = centrans(mult,type)

Parameters

    mult - multiplicity of the spin (even positive integer)

    type - operator type: 'x' for Sx, 'y' for Sy,
                'z' for Sz, '+' for raising, '-' for lowering

Outputs

    A - sparse matrix of the central transition operator

Examples

A central transition raising operator for a spin-3/2 system:

    A = centrans(4,'+');

Notes

The operator is returned as a complex sparse matrix.
