NV0 excited-state spin system for diamond. Magnetic parameters from Felton et al., Phys. Rev. B 77, 081201 (2008), DOI link. The spin system contains one spin-3/2 electron and one nitrogen nucleus. The g-tensor, the zero-field splitting tensor and the nitrogen hyperfine tensor are all axial about the trigonal [111] direction and are built in the corresponding principal axis frame: g=[2.0035 2.0035 2.0029], an axial zero-field splitting with D=1685 MHz built by zfs2mat.m, and a 15N hyperfine tensor with principal values of [-23.8 -23.8 -35.7] MHz. When '14N' is requested, the hyperfine tensor is scaled by the ratio of the 14N and 15N magnetogyric ratios. All tensors are then rotated by the matrix that aligns the requested crystal plane normal with the magnetic field direction; the zero-field splitting is converted into irreducible spherical form by mat2ias.m, and the result is returned in the zeeman.matrix and coupling.matrix fields.

Syntax

    [sys,inter]=diamond_nv0_es(parameters)

Parameters

parameters is a structure with the following required fields:

      .orientation - '111', '110', or '100' crystal plane normal
                      aligned with the magnetic field
      .nitrogen - '14N' or '15N'; 14N hyperfine couplings
are scaled from 15N, with no NQI included
because none is reported for this state

Outputs

sys - Spinach system specification structure

inter - Spinach interaction specification structure
