Draws an academic journal style letter label in the top left corner of the current axis set. The label is placed inside the plot box, with its left edge and its cap line 10 points away from the left and the top edge of the box, whatever the proportions of the figure or of the axes. The rendered plot box of the current axes is measured in points, the label position is expressed as a fraction of that box, and the text object is placed in normalised units with the 'cap' vertical alignment, bold weight, and 16 point size.

Syntax

            kletter(letter_label)

Parameters

  letter_label - one-element character
                 string with the label

Outputs

  updates the current axis system

Notes

The offsets are computed when the function is called, so the figure should already have its final size and a tiled layout all of its tiles; the label is stored as a fraction of the plot box and follows the axes if they are resized later. The label carries the tag 'kletter', and fig2tiles.m re-applies it to the retiled axes of a merged figure.
